Grafana Labs is seeking a Senior Engineer to drive Tempo's technical direction, owning critical components and shaping APIs for AI-assisted workflows. You will collaborate with product and sibling teams, deliver multi-month projects, and contribute to open source while maintaining high reliability and scalable performance for Grafana Cloud traces and Tempo’s platform.

You will work in a remote-friendly environment with emphasis on automation, SLOs, incident response and mentoring junior

Formación

• Proven track record delivering multi-month projects.
• Experience building and operating distributed data systems.
• Strong Go or ability to become proficient quickly.
• Excellent collaboration with product and SRE teams.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver significant technical projects from framing to rollout.
• Own major Tempo components: ingestion, storage, query, metrics.
• Build APIs for humans and agents.
• Contribute to operational excellence with SLIs, SLOs, and automation.
• Collaborate with Product and sibling teams to understand Tempo usage.
• Mentor and support engineers with code reviews and design feedback.
• Participate in on-call and post-incident reviews.
• Contribute to open source Tempo.
