Job summary

Pivotal Health is seeking a hands-on technical leader to own and evolve the product platform that powers multiple products. You’ll drive identity, tenancy, and developer experiences while setting standards that scale across teams.

You’ll write production code, mentor engineers, and shape scalable, secure, and reusable interfaces. The role combines high ownership with the freedom to define how architecture and ownership evolve in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with backend depth and cross-domain work.
• Track record of owning architectural decisions on complex production systems.
• Proficient in Python or strong backend depth demonstrated in interviews.
• Experience designing and operating cloud-native systems; GCP preferred.
• Relational data modeling and careful schema evolution.
• Strong product instincts and customer-focused problem discovery.
• Self-directed, communicative, and able to lead without a title.
• Comfortable in greenfield environments with evolving requirements.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction of the platform across identity, tenancy, and developer experience.
• Write production code, lead design reviews, and own end-to-end systems.
• Design for extension with well-defined interfaces for product teams.
• Make architectural calls balancing scalability, reliability, and security.
• Translate ambiguous requirements into clear, well-scoped work.
• Raise engineering bar through patterns, reviews, and collaboration (AI tooling).
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers on the team and product groups.
