Job summary

Nicoll Curtin is seeking a Head of Platform to design, build, and lead a mission-critical clinical platform. You will own the platform architecture and translate clinical requirements into a scalable technical roadmap, while working with executive leadership to guide the engineering organization.

You will oversee cloud infrastructure, backend services, data architecture, security, APIs, and third-party integrations, building a production-ready platform within an ambitious timeline.

Job description

As Head of Platform, you will design, build, and lead the development of a mission-critical clinical platform that will serve as The client’s core operating system. You will define the overall platform architecture, translate business and clinical requirements into a scalable technical roadmap, and take full ownership of delivering a production-ready platform within an ambitious timeline. Working closely with executive leadership, you will build and lead the engineering team, manage the platform budget, and drive key technology decisions across cloud infrastructure, backend services, data architecture, security, APIs, and third-party integrations.

You will oversee the development of a highly scalable platform supporting clinical workflows, laboratory integrations, mobile and web applications, patient records, scheduling, billing, and data pipelines. Taking a hands‑on approach, you will lead internal engineers and coordinate external partners and vendors, establish engineering best practices, manage delivery milestones, and proactively identify and mitigate risks to support a successful platform launch.

To succeed in this role, you bring a proven track record of leading engineering teams and delivering complex software platforms from architecture through production. You have experience managing budgets, building scalable cloud‑based platforms, and integrating complex external systems, ideally in healthcare, diagnostics, or other highly regulated environments. You are a hands‑on technology leader who combines strategic thinking with strong execution, may be expected to help shape organizational structure from the ground up, and thrives in fast‑paced environments with clear ownership and accountability.
