Job summary

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience
• Experience leveraging AI tools or systems to accelerate development
• Curiosity and experimentation with emerging AI frameworks
• Experience building large high throughput distributed systems
• Experience in the Commerce domain: invoicing, commerce, payment processing
• Experience owning multi-quarter projects with measurable impact
• Ability to mentor engineers to maximize performance and impact
• Ability to communicate across engineering teams and with stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and test Gusto core billing platform – usage jobs, subscriptions, invoices, payments, reporting, and accounting integrations.
• Mentor other engineers to solve high-complexity problems at scale.
• Collaborate with Product Engineering, Product Management, Data, and Design to address customer pain points, prototype, iterate, and launch daily.
• Build products that customers genuinely love.
