Job summary

Comfy is seeking a backend engineer to own the billing stack, including metering, payments, credits, and subscriptions. You will ensure reliable invoicing, fraud detection, and scalable pricing for creators, teams, and enterprises.

You'll work with Go, PostgreSQL, Redis, Temporal, Stripe, and Metronome across services, advancing production readiness and cross-team collaboration. This is a high-ownership role in San Francisco with a focus on money-handling reliability.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and operating production billing systems.
• Ownership of usage metering, credits, subscriptions, and revenue integrity.
• Strong knowledge of relational data modeling and reliable APIs.

Responsibilities

• Capture usage reliably for GPU compute and model APIs.
• Own the payment lifecycle including checkout, subscriptions, top-ups, prorations, and refunds.
• Reconcile charges, payments, and credits with audit trails and reliability improvements.
• Make pricing changes safe for subscribers while expanding models and plans.
• Improve spend controls and detection of fraud in billing workflows.
• Collaborate with Product, Support, and Finance on billing experiences and issues.
