Job summary

Zipline is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own the technical direction of its integrations platform, combining hands-on engineering with architecture leadership. You will shape roadmaps across teams, build production software, and enable engineers to deliver robust partner API integrations.

You will create frontend and backend SDKs, design reusable connector patterns, and develop environments and tests to ensure scalable, reliable integrations that support Zipline’s growth.

Qualifications

• 7+ years building and operating production backend or distributed systems.
• Experience turning varied external APIs into reusable connector patterns with clear boundaries and contracts.
• Strong skills in API design, data modeling, asynchronous workflows, and idempotent processing.
• Experience building developer platforms, SDKs, or internal tooling used by other engineers.
• Ability to mentor engineers, lead technical reviews, and drive architecture across teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction of Zipline’s integrations platform as a hands-on contributor.
• Shape architecture and roadmap across teams; build production software to enable partner API integrations.
• Create frontend and backend SDKs and development environments to support partner integrations.
• Define interfaces between connectors and Zipline core platform; manage API/SDK versioning and compatibility.
• Build sandbox environments, simulators, and automated tests to ensure reliable integrations.
