Job summary

Zipline is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own the technical direction of our integrations platform. You will shape architecture across teams, build production software, and enable engineers to deliver partner API integrations with frontend and backend SDKs and reusable patterns.

You will drive enterprise-ready integrations for major clients, shorten time from deal to production, and mentor engineers while improving reliability and scale of the platform.

Qualifications

• 7+ years building and operating production backend or distributed systems with ownership of architecture.
• Experience building developer platforms, SDKs, or internal tooling for external API integrations.
• Strong skills in API design, data modeling, asynchronous workflows, and idempotent processing.

Responsibilities

• Enable partner experiences by building frontend and backend SDKs and developer tooling for partner API integrations.
• Set the platform architecture with clear interfaces between connectors and core platform; manage API/SDK versioning.
• Make development self‑service with sandbox environments, simulators, and automated tests.
• Make launches repeatable with automated release checks and reliability criteria.
• Simplify onboarding with documentation, reference implementations, and onboarding workflows.
• Keep integrations reliable with monitoring, retries, and incident response.
• Build for lasting scale by evolving data models for long-term requirements.
• Lead technical reviews, mentor engineers, and measure developer ramp time and delivery metrics.
• Guide enterprise launches by translating requirements into platform roadmap and blocking issues.
