Job summary

Zipline is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own the technical direction of its integrations platform as a hands-on contributor. You will shape the architecture and roadmap across teams, build production software, and enable engineers to deliver partner API integrations.

You will create frontend and backend SDKs enabling partners to build great experiences in their own apps, with reusable connector patterns and automated quality checks.

Qualifications

• 7+ years building and operating production backend or distributed systems.
• Experience building developer platforms, SDKs, or internal tooling for external API integrations.
• Strong skills in API design, data modeling, and asynchronous workflows.
• Proven ability to mentor engineers and lead architecture reviews.
• Hands-on depth in Go or Python with developer tooling experience.

Responsibilities

• Enable partner experiences by building frontend and backend SDKs and the integration framework.
• Define platform architecture with clear interfaces between connectors and core platform.
• Create sandbox environments, partner API simulators, and automated contract tests.
• Establish integration acceptance criteria and automated release checks.
• Develop documentation and onboarding workflows for faster developer ramp-up.
• Maintain reliability with monitoring, incident response, and runbooks for integrations.
• Evolve data models to support long-term finance and operations needs.
• Lead technical reviews and mentor engineers to improve framework and adoption.
