Reddit, Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to shape the future of our developer platform. You will work across frontend, backend, SDKs, platform, and full-stack systems to empower developers to build innovative Reddit apps.

You’ll lead technical initiatives, define platform direction, and collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and other teams to deliver high-quality developer experiences. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role operating in a fully remote environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of industry experience in platform functionality, developer tools, full-stack products, or app platforms.
• Experience leading large-scale technical projects from design through delivery.
• API design and platform engineering experience with a strong sense of developer empathy.
• Familiarity with Go, TypeScript, GraphQL, React, Redis, relational/NoSQL databases and ability to work across the stack.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve the core platform services and capabilities that power the developer experience.
• Create new capabilities that help external developers build great apps on Reddit.
• Contribute across the full development cycle, including design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch.
• Review code, design documents, product specs, and user experiences.
• Help shape team strategy and the future direction of the platform.
• Share knowledge, mentor teammates, and contribute to a culture of ownership.
