Job summary

Reddit, Inc. is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to architect and maintain the scalable backend powering our developer platform. You will lead with Go, Typescript, Redis, and Kubernetes, building highly available services for external developers and internal teams.

You will mentor engineers, own large-scale projects, and help shape our infrastructure strategy in a fast-paced, fully remote environment. Base salary ranges in US and equity are offered.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of industry experience in backend, infrastructure, developer tools, or app platforms.
• Technical leader in the execution of large scale projects as well as day-to-day troubleshooting.
• Mentoring and coaching other engineers as well as leading by example strong software engineering best practices.
• Excellent communication skills in a fully-remote environment with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the underlying infrastructure of the developer platform.
• Build new features for external developers such as SQL db as a service.
• Contribute to the entire development cycle: design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis and launch.
• Contribute meaningfully to team strategy and planning for the future.
