Job summary

PatientPoint® is seeking a Staff Platform Engineer to own cross-system initiatives on our cloud platform and help engineers ship safer deployments.

You’ll write design documents, set reliability goals, mentor senior engineers, and collaborate with Security and Engineering to improve observability and incident response.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, cloud or infrastructure engineering, systems or network administration, DevOps, or platform engineering.
• Hands-on design and operation of production cloud infrastructure, containers and CI/CD (AWS, Kubernetes or similar), with infrastructure as code.
• Experience leading a technical initiative spanning multiple systems or teams, from proposal to completion.
• Experience designing for reliability and security, such as access models, deployment safety, observability and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-quarter programs spanning several systems (cloud accounts, CI/CD, identity, artifact management).
• Set technical direction for platform areas through design documents and decision records.
• Define reliability for services including SLIs/SLOs, alerting, and on-call design.
• Sequence changes across interdependent systems to avoid breaking others.
• Identify team priorities and make the business case with cost and risk.
• Mentor senior engineers and stay hands-on with the most critical changes.
