Job summary

Intuit is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to design and build the core traffic infrastructure powering our platform at scale, including API Gateway, MCP Gateway, AI Gateway, and Service Mesh. This hands-on leadership role emphasizes resiliency, latency, and operational excellence in high-transaction environments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience designing and developing platform software backend services and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude or Cursor or equivalent.
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes fundamentals and Istio/Envoy.
• Proficiency in Go and Java; strong networking (TCP/TLS/HTTP/gRPC) fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop core Traffic Platform components (API Gateway, MCP Gateway, AI Gateway, Service Mesh).
• Lead requirements gathering, technical specs, and testing plans across initiatives.
• Present designs and trade-offs to review forums and drive stakeholder alignment.
• Review code and provide actionable feedback to improve code quality.
• Debug distributed failures across Kubernetes clusters and ensure observability and reliability.
