Job summary

Intuit in Indianapolis is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to design and build the core Traffic Platform that powers our platform at scale, including API Gateway, MCP Gateway, AI Gateway, and a Service Mesh. This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on resiliency, latency, and operability at high transaction volumes.

You will lead design reviews, drive architectural decisions, and contribute production-grade code in Go, Java, and Python while mentoring others.

Qualifications

• 10+ years designing backend services and distributed systems.
• Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure experience at scale.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (Claude/Cursor).
• Strong Go and Java programming skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop core Traffic Platform components (API Gateway, MCP Gateway, AI Gateway, Service Mesh).
• Lead requirements gathering, technical specs, and testing plans across initiatives.
• Present designs and trade-offs to technical review forums and align with stakeholders.
• Code reviews and hands-on production code in Go, Python, and Java.
