Job summary

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience in large-scale, low-latency distributed systems.
• Deep hands-on expertise with modern service mesh and API gateway architectures (Envoy/Istio).
• Strong systems-level programming in Go and/or Java; experience with hybrid-language platforms.
• Experience designing authentication/authorization for high-throughput traffic; OAuth, mTLS, token exchange a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set architecture and engineering direction for API Gateway, Service Mesh, and MCP Gateway.
• Design and harden MCP Gateway authentication flows and performance/security readiness.
• Lead AI-agent-enabled traffic operations tasks including troubleshooting and config impact analysis.
• Own or co-own major migrations end-to-end with backward compatibility and blast-radius containment.
• Apply resiliency practices (FMEA, Game Day, load shedding) to reduce P1/P2 incidents.
• Serve as technical escalation point during high-severity incidents affecting gateway or mesh traffic.
