Job summary

Zocdoc is hiring a Staff Platform Engineer focused on AI Enablement in New York City. You will design, build, and evolve foundational systems and guardrails to enable both technical and non-technical teams to harness AI safely and productively.

This role emphasizes hands-on leadership and a strong bias for practical, scalable platform improvements. You will bridge engineering-grade tools with non-engineering workflows, mentor engineers, and drive platform adoption across the organization while

Qualifications

• 7+ years building or evolving internal developer platforms, productivity tooling, or CI/CD systems.
• Experience operating distributed systems in AWS or similar clouds.
• Ability to design platform abstractions and APIs for both technical and non-technical users.
• Strong communication to translate engineering concepts for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design and build platform services that are secure, scalable, and easy to use, including CI/CD pipelines and AI-powered workflows.
• Shape the technical direction of the internal developer platform and shared workflows for multiple audiences.
• Build and maintain opinionated platforms and guardrails for safe AI usage across engineering and non-technical teams.
• Define and evolve the software development lifecycle for non-traditional builders with access controls and testing patterns.
• Drive adoption of platform capabilities through collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Lead high-impact platform investments end-to-end from problem framing to rollout.
• Improve metrics like build times, deployment safety, AI adoption, and operational simplicity.
• Champion platform-as-product thinking for internal users and iterate based on feedback.
• Advance AI-assisted development practices and set guardrails for safety, quality, and testability.
