Job summary

Evolve is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead our cloud and platform engineering efforts. You will shape the architecture across teams, drive CI/CD and Kubernetes patterns, and build secure, scalable infrastructure.

You’ll mentor engineers and push for reliable, cost-conscious solutions as we scale our vacation rental platform. Strong emphasis on IaC, security-by-design, and responsible AI usage will guide day-to-day decisions and long-term roadmap.

Qualifications

• 8–12+ years in Platform Engineering, SRE, or DevOps roles.
• Deep experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation).
• CI/CD pipeline design and optimization (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar).
• Cloud platform expertise (AWS, GCP, or Azure) — architecture, cost optimization, IAM.

Responsibilities

• Drive DevOps transformation — design and optimize CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes strategies.
• Champion security-first infrastructure — implement secrets management, least privilege, and vulnerability scanning.
• Apply AI tooling to accelerate platform work with rigorous evaluation practices.
• Own platform reliability end-to-end — define SLOs/SLAs, lead incident response, reduce outages.
• Lead infrastructure as code at scale — design reusable IaC modules (Terraform/Pulumi) to reduce toil and debt.
• Define and drive architectural direction — influence platform architecture across teams.
• Deliver high-leverage solutions using emerging technology — stay current and apply new patterns.
• Optimize cloud architecture for reliability and cost — balance resources, cost, and performance with leadership.
• Manage cross-functional dependencies and risk — surface risks early and drive changes.
• Mentor senior engineers — code reviews, architectural guidance, and growth of the team.
