Job summary

AltaMed Health Services is seeking a Staff Physician for an Urgent Care setting in California. You will provide immediate medical care for non-life-threatening conditions, diagnose and manage patients, and contribute to a high standard of care in a busy clinic.

The role requires an MD or DO, valid California medical license, and board certification (or eligibility within 18 months). Ongoing CME and BLS certification are expected as part of professional development and patient safety commitments.

Qualifications

• Valid CA medical license and board certification in specialty or board eligible with 18 months to certification.
• Residency completed in appropriate field.
• Ongoing CME to stay current with medical advances.

Job Overview

A Staff Physician in Urgent Care provides medical care to patients in an urgent care facility, offering immediate treatment for various non-life‑threatening injuries and illnesses. The Physician diagnoses, treats, and manages patients with various medical conditions and ensures quality patient care.

Minimum Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
• Valid, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of California and Board certification in the chosen specialty required or Board Eligible, with the expectation to become board certified within 18 months of employment.
• Completion of a residency program in an appropriate field.
• Ongoing continuing medical education to stay current with medical advances.
• A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.

Compensation

$274,684.80 - $329,621.76 annually
