Job summary

Critical Playground LLC seeks a Staff Photographer to create images for university publications and client websites, working with the Managing Photographer. The role includes timely archiving into university catalogs and maintaining photography equipment.

Responsibilities span studio, classroom, and field shoots with natural and artificial lighting. Strong editing and color management skills are essential, with flexibility for evenings and weekends as required.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree, preferably in photography.
• 1-2 years of experience required.
• Proficient in digital editing, workflow, and color management.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Excellent computer and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Capture images documenting people, programs and facilities of the university.
• Respond to internal photo requests in a timely manner.
• Ensure all photo assignments are shot, submitted and processed by deadlines.
• Perform photo adjustments and light retouching before publishing.
• Photograph in studio, classroom, and field using natural and artificial lighting.
• Work well in fast-paced environments and solve problems on shoots.
• Willing to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and independently.
• Demonstrate visual problem solving across assignments.
• Coordinate with Photography Project Coordinator on requests and scheduling.
• Maintain knowledge of current industry photography trends.
• Shoot and edit photos for portraits, candids, environmental and event uses.
