Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to lead patient care in our pharmacy, supporting the Pharmacy Manager and supervising the pharmacy team. The role includes safe dispensing, counseling, immunizations, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

You will help manage day-to-day duties, supervise bench shifts, and drive performance through coaching and follow-up, while maintaining high standards of safety and patient service.

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located.
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.

Responsibilities

• Living CVS Health’s purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
• Overseeing the pharmacy as proxy during bench shifts when needed and coaching the team to improve performance.
• Assuming Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the primary pharmacist-on-duty.
• Ensuring safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following workflow procedures and safety guardrails.
• Delivering empathetic patient care and resolving insurance or medication issues with the pharmacy team.
• Proactively offering and delivering immunizations to keep patients healthy; supporting technicians to immunize.
• Managing pharmacy inventory with best practices, protecting cold chain products.
• Ensuring operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations and escalating as needed.
• Maintaining scheduling and contributing to a safe, inclusive team dynamic.
