Job summary

CVS Health in the United States is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to lead pharmacy operations, provide safe dispensing, patient counseling, and immunization services, and support the Pharmacy Manager in daily duties. You will help ensure high-quality patient care across the store.

You will ensure compliant practice, coach the pharmacy team, manage inventory, and deliver compassionate care across diverse patient communities while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located.
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.

Responsibilities

• Living our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
• Taking direction from the Pharmacy Manager and overseeing the pharmacy as their proxy during bench shifts without overlap, including strengthening pharmacy performance measures through coaching and follow-up.
• Assumes Pharmacy Manager's day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty.
• Supporting safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following workflow procedures and safety guardrails at every workstation.
• Contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, and coaching the team to do the same.
• Proactively offering and delivering immunizations to keep patients healthy; assisting Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize.
• Managing pharmacy inventory with best practices, protecting cold chain products, and optimizing stock.
