Job summary

Meijer Pharmacy is seeking a pharmacist committed to patient care and clinical excellence within a community setting.

You will fill prescriptions, educate staff, and maintain strong patient relationships while ensuring regulatory compliance and team growth. This role may include immunization services and handling in-charge operations as needed, with a focus on education and service quality.

Qualifications

• Patient care focus and clinical orientation in a community pharmacy setting.
• Leadership and mentoring of pharmacy technicians to improve team performance.
• Knowledge of state and federal pharmacy regulations and Meijer Policies.

Responsibilities

• Fill prescriptions safely and accurately.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients and team members.
• Hold technicians accountable for results and support growth of the pharmacy business.
• Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians to be effective team members.
• Motivate team members to perform at high levels.
• Ensure compliance with policy and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate effectively and drive change as needed.
• Prioritize workload with strong organizational skills.
• Listen to patients and address needs; provide customer service.
• In pharmacist-in-charge absence, oversee pharmacy operations.
• Perform and oversee immunization and applicable clinical services.

This position must practice the profession of pharmacy in an environment that by philosophy and policy, promote patient care and education. This person must be patient directed, clinically oriented, and have a vision to take Meijer Pharmacy to the next level of patient care.

What You'll be Doing:

• Fill prescriptions safely accurately.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members and leadership.
• Hold pharmacy technicians accountable for results in an appropriate and effective manner and have a vision to expand and grow the pharmacy business.
• Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians to be effective team members.
• Motivate team members to perform to their highest level.
• Competent and knowledgeable of Meijer Policies and Procedures as well as state and federal laws.
• Effective communication skills and agent of change.
• Excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize workload.
• Listen to the patient and resolve patient’s needs, customer service.
• In the absence of the pharmacist in charge, will be responsible for the pharmacy operations.
• Perform and oversee (where allowed) clinical services, including immunizations

What You Bring With You (Qualifications):

• Bachelor of Science Degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy.
• Registered and licensed in the state of practice.
• Certified Immunization Pharmacist (except Indiana)
• Retail/Community Practice.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy system, working knowledge of policies and procedures, understanding of regulatory in the state the unit operates.
