Job summary

Meijer Pharmacy is seeking a licensed Pharmacist to join our retail team in Alabama. The role focuses on safe prescription filling, patient education, and clinical services including immunizations.

You will mentor technicians, uphold policies, and manage operations when the pharmacist in charge is unavailable. The ideal candidate has a BS or PharmD, active state license, and experience in community practice, with strong customer service and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy is required and must be licensed in the state of practice.
• Retail/Community Pharmacy experience.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy systems and policies; understanding of state/federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Fill prescriptions safely and accurately.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members and leadership.
• Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians to be effective team members.
• Oversee pharmacy operations in absence of the pharmacist in charge.
• Perform immunizations and related clinical services where allowed.

What You’ll be Doing:

• Fill prescriptions safely accurately.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members and leadership.
• Hold pharmacy technicians accountable for results in an appropriate and effective manner and have a vision to expand and grow the pharmacy business.
• Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians to be effective team members.
• Motivate team members to perform to their highest level.
• Competent and knowledgeable of Meijer Policies and Procedures as well as state and federal laws.
• Effective communication skills and agent of change.
• Excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize workload.
• Listen to the patient and resolve patient’s needs, customer service.
• In the absence of the pharmacist in charge, will be responsible for the pharmacy operations.
• Perform and oversee (where allowed) clinical services, including immunizations

What You Bring With You (Qualifications):

• Bachelor of Science Degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy.
• Registered and licensed in the state of practice.
• Certified Immunization Pharmacist (except Indiana)
• Retail/Community Practice.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy system, working knowledge of policies and procedures, understanding of regulatory in the state the unit operates.
