Job summary

Meijer Pharmacy seeks a licensed pharmacist to deliver patient-centered care in a retail setting. You will fill prescriptions accurately, educate patients, and uphold Meijer policies and state/federal laws.

You will mentor technicians, motivate the team, and oversee operations in the absence of the pharmacist in charge, including immunization services where permitted. Join a practice focused on quality patient care and community service.

Qualifications

• Licensed pharmacist in the state of practice.
• Experience in retail/community pharmacy environment.
• Certified to immunize (where allowed).
• Familiar with common pharmacy systems and procedures.
• Knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Fill prescriptions safely and accurately.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, team and leadership.
• Mentor pharmacy technicians and drive growth of the pharmacy business.
• Ensure effective team motivation and high performance.
• Comply with Meijer policies and applicable laws.

• Prioritize workload with excellent organizational skills.
• Listen to patients and resolve their needs with good service.
• In charge when pharmacist in charge is absent, oversee operations.
• Perform and supervise clinical services such as immunizations.

This position must practice the profession of pharmacy in an environment that by philosophy and policy, promote patient care and education. This person must be patient directed, clinically oriented, and have a vision to take Meijer Pharmacy to the next level of patient care.

What You’ll be Doing:

• Fill prescriptions safely accurately.
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members and leadership.
• Hold pharmacy technicians accountable for results in an appropriate and effective manner and have a vision to expand and grow the pharmacy business.
• Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians to be effective team members.
• Motivate team members to perform to their highest level.
• Competent and knowledgeable of Meijer Policies and Procedures as well as state and federal laws.
• Effective communication skills and agent of change.
• Excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize workload.
• Listen to the patient and resolve patient’s needs, customer service.
• In the absence of the pharmacist in charge, will be responsible for the pharmacy operations.
• Perform and oversee (where allowed) clinical services, including immunizations

What You Bring With You (Qualifications):

• Bachelor of Science Degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy.
• Registered and licensed in the state of practice.
• Certified Immunization Pharmacist (except Indiana)
• Retail/Community Practice.
• Working knowledge of pharmacy system, working knowledge of policies and procedures, understanding of regulatory in the state the unit operates.
