Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Staff PCB Designer / Staff Layout Engineer in Costa Mesa, CA. You will collaborate with avionics, systems, and software teams to design test systems for development and verification, while guiding layout best practices and mentors for other designers.

The role emphasizes high-density, high-speed layouts with strict SI/PI constraints, and eligibility for security clearance. Excellent collaboration across disciplines is required in a fast-moving defense environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of PCB layout experience.
• 5+ years with Altium.
• Ability to read schematics and enforce best practices.
• Deep understanding of PCB fabrication, assembly, and stackups with fabricators.
• Experience owning ECAD libraries and IPC compliance governance.
• Knowledge of SI/PI, translate results into layout constraints.
• Expert-level high-speed digital layout including DDR, PCIe, SerDes, Ethernet, USB.
• Experience with high-density designs: fine-pitch BGA, HDI, >12 layers.
• Technical leadership: lead designer on complex programs, set constraints, reviews, mentoring.
• Ability to manage layout scope, schedule, and risk across concurrent programs with cross-team collaboration.
• Eligible for security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with avionics, system, and software engineers to create test systems for development, qualification, verification, and validation purposes.
• Support deployments and customer-operated hardware in a fast-paced environment.
• Lead layout reviews and mentor junior designers.
