Job summary

Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis seeks a Registered Nurse for the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU). This part-time role (0.75 FTE, 60 hours per pay period) involves night shifts with a rotating weekend schedule and a 12-hour shift length.

You will provide and coordinate critical care nursing, apply family-centered care, and participate in care planning. Minimum qualifications include 1 year ICU RN experience, graduation from an accredited nursing program, and Minnesota RN licensure.

• Partner with the patient and family, documenting interventions.
• Create and update an individualized plan of care.

Shift Length: 12 hour

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Within the context of the Hennepin Healthcare System Patient and Family Centered Care model, and under general supervision, the registered nurse provides and coordinates nursing care by:

• Protecting, promoting, and optimizing health
• Preventing illness and injury
• Alleviating suffering through the treatment of the human response
• Partnering with the patient, their family and significant others
• Documenting interventions and an individualized plan of care

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

• 1 year of current adult ICU professional nursing (RN) experience
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in area of clinical specialty
• BSN Preferred. Bachelor of Nursing degree is strongly encouraged. Advancement in academic education will be discussed as part of individual professional development during the annual performance review.
