Job summary

Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis, MN, seeks an RN for Labor & Delivery, 0.7 FTE (56 hours per pay period), nights with every other weekend rotation. Shifts are 8 hours; call per unit policy. The role requires training as a charge nurse and ongoing professional development within the department.

Minimum qualifications include 1 year of maternal health RN experience (or related capstone/preceptorship), RN license in Minnesota, and graduation from an accredited nursing program. BSN preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Within the context of the Hennepin Healthcare System Patient and Family Centered Care model, and under general supervision, the registered nurse provides and coordinates nursing care by:

• Protecting, promoting, and optimizing health
• Preventing illness and injury
• Alleviating suffering through the treatment of the human response
• Partnering with the patient, their family and significant others
• Documenting interventions and an individualized plan of care

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

• 1 year of recent maternal health professional nursing (RN) experience and/or completion of a maternal health (preferably L&D) capstone/preceptorship
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in area of clinical specialty
• BSN Preferred. Bachelor of Nursing degree is strongly encouraged. Advancement in academic education will be discussed as part of individual professional development during the annual performance review.
