Job summary

Hennepin County Medical Center is seeking a Staff Nurse to join the OB Resource Pool team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This role involves cross-training in OBGYN, Nursery, Labor and Delivery, Pediatrics, and NICU, working 12-hour night shifts with some weekends and on-call duties.

Summary

We are currently seeking a Staff Nurse to join our OB Resource Pool team. This position will be cross‑trained to work/float in OBGYN, Nursery, Labor and Delivery, Pediatrics and NICU. This position is a 0.75 FTE (5 shifts per pay period), 12‑hour shifts, nights, every third weekend plus on call per unit policy. Note: This role will also be trained as a charge nurse.

Responsibilities

Within the context of the Hennepin Healthcare System Patient and Family Centered Care model, and under general supervision, the registered nurse provides and coordinates nursing care by:

• Protecting, promoting, and optimizing health
• Preventing illness and injury
• Alleviating suffering through the treatment of the human responsePartnering with the patient, their family and significant others
• Documenting interventions and an individualized plan of care

Minimum Qualifications

• 1 year of recent maternal health professional nursing (RN) experience
• 2 years of current professional nursing (RN) experience in an inpatient hospital setting
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in area of clinical specialty
• BSN Preferred. Bachelor of Nursing degree strongly encouraged. Advancement in academic education will be discussed as part of individual professional development during the annual performance review.
