Job summary

Northfield Hospital + Clinics is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Birth Center. You will deliver direct professional nursing care to maternal and newborn patients, using the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care within department policies.

Qualifications

  • Current RN license with the Minnesota Board of Nursing, in good standing.
  • Current BLS must be enrolled in NH+C RQI program and complete requirements within 90 days of enrollment.
  • Current ACLS must be enrolled in NH+C RQI program and complete requirements within 90 days of enrollment.
  • Current NRP Certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months, company paid).
  • Current STABLE Certification (or willingness to obtain within 1 year, company paid).
  • Basic Electronic Fetal Monitoring (or willingness to obtain within 6 months, company paid).
  • Initial Crisis Prevention Certification (CPI) within six months.
  • Workplace Violence education in New Employee Orientation and annually thereafter.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses patient’s condition based on observation, exam, and interview, lab findings, and other pertinent information.
  • Identifies changes in normal and abnormal parameters in the patient’s condition.
  • Uses professional judgement to prepare, prioritize and execute the patient’s plan of care.
  • Directs and delegates support personnel in implementing patient’s plan of care.
  • Implements nursing interventions to achieve progress toward outcomes or stabilize the patient.
  • Renders professional nursing care including administering medications, starting IV fluids and blood products.
  • Performs IV venipuncture, restraint, sterile dressings, etc.

Job Summary

As aRegistered Nurse,in ourBirth Center, you will providedirect professional nursing care for maternal and newborn patients by utilizing nursing knowledge and critical thinking skills. Performs technical nursing functions, utilizes the nursing process to assess patient status, develop, implement, and evaluate patient care.Ensures a therapeutic and safe environment for patients and families within the guidelines and policies of the department and the philosophy of the organization. This position provides age-specific and developmentally appropriate care for neonate, adolescent, and adult patients.

Compensation

We are committed to providing wage ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on experience, educationand internal equity considerations. The hourly wage range for this position is: RN ASN, $42.70—$62.79; RN BSN, $44.41—$65.30; RN MSN, $46.18—$67.91. Theseranges reflectthe base wagefor this position.

Key Accountabilities

Assesses patient’s condition based upon observation, examination, and / or interview, laboratory findings, and other pertinent information

Identifies and consistently recognizes changes in normal and abnormal parameters in the patient’s physiological and psychological condition.

Uses professional judgement and critical thinking to prepare, prioritize and execute the patient’s plan of care consistent with patient assessment data and physician’s treatment plans and professional standards of evidence-based practice.

Directs and delegates support personnel in implementing patient’s plan of care, provides supervision and guidance.

Implements nursing interventions to achieve progress toward expected patient outcomes or to stabilize a patient’s condition and / or prevent complications.

Renders professional nursing care including administering medications, starting intravenous fluids and blood products.

Performs all technical skills required for unit patient population such as, but not limited to IV venipuncture, restraint application, sterile dressings, etc.

Evaluates and documents patient’s response to nursing care and modifies or revises treatment plans, and / or contacts physicians as circumstances require.

Provides and documents patient / family education based on diagnosis, treatment plan or prescribed medical regimen in accordance with patient / family readiness and ability to learn.

Qualifications

Current RN license with the Minnesota Board of Nursing, in good standing

Current BLS must be enrolled in NH+C RQI program and complete the requirements within 90 days of enrollment. Must remain current (complete quarterly assignments prior to the end of each calendar quarter).

Current ACLS must be enrolled in NH+C RQI program and complete the requirements within 90 days of enrollment. Must remain current (complete quarterly assignments prior to the end of each calendar quarter).

Schedule

72 hours per two-week pay period (0.9 FTE)

7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Every third weekend and every third holiday

Eligible for Shift Differential Pay in addition to base wage
