Job summary

McLeod Health in South Carolina is seeking a Staff Nurse to provide patient-centered nursing care across units as needed. You will evaluate patient data to implement age-appropriate interventions, collaborate with the health care team, and participate in quality initiatives.

The ideal candidate will graduate from an accredited nursing program, hold Basic Life Support, and be a Registered Nurse ready to contribute to a caring environment.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
  • Advanced resuscitative certification appropriate to population if serving in a charge nurse role.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients' needs based on history, observation, physical examination, and diagnostic data to deliver age-appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Foster an environment of caring, compassion, and respect for patients, families, and visitors.
  • Utilize health and safety equipment to protect patients and staff.
  • Apply standard work in relation to Nursing Sensitive Quality Indicators.
  • Precept and mentor novice employees to support department performance.
  • Contribute to department growth through system initiatives and evidence-based practices.
  • Pursue continued professional growth by setting goals and attending education offerings.
  • Float to assist in other like units as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Job responsibilities include those listed in the competency document but are not limited to assessing the needs of the patients as assigned based on data collected through history, observation, physical examination, and analysis of diagnostic data while also providing appropriate age specific nursing interventions which are consistent with the plan of care and standards of practice.
  • Fosters an environment that demonstrates caring, compassion, and respect for patients, families, and visitors.
  • Utilizes appropriate health and safety equipment to protect both patients and staff.
  • Utilizes standard work in relation to Nursing Sensitive Quality Indicators.
  • Contributes to the overall performance of the department through precepting and mentoring novice employees.
  • Contributes to the department growth and performance through hospital-system initiatives cultivating nursing involved Evidence Based Practices.
  • Demonstrates continued professional growth through setting goals and participating in educational offerings.
  • Will float to assist in other like units as needed.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
