Responsibilities

• Identify physical and psycho-social signs and symptoms.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate the nursing regimen for assigned patients.

• Interpret and report patient responses to the health team.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to plan patient care.
• Supervise allied nursing personnel in the regimen.
• Provide teaching and direction to staff in patient care.

• Engage in conferences pertaining to nursing procedures.

About This Role

The Staff Nurse in Oncology Outpatient provides professional nursing care to patients within the assigned unit, focusing on diagnosing and treating health problems through various nursing methods. This role is ideal for experienced nurses looking to make a significant impact in patient care.

• Schedule: Full-Time, Day shift (8:00 A.M - 4:00 P.M)

What You'll Do

• Identify and discriminate between physical and psycho-social signs and symptoms.
• Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate the nursing regimen for assigned patients/clients.
• Record and maintain nursing care plans and progress notes on patients/clients.
• Interpret and report responses of patients/clients to appropriate members of the health team.
• Participate with interdisciplinary health team members to plan a comprehensive patient care program.
• Determine and assign components of the nursing regimen to allied nursing personnel.
• Provide teaching, guidance, and direction to allied nursing personnel in rendering patient care.
• Participate in defining, implementing, maintaining, and interpreting standards of nursing practice.
• Participate in departmental and interdisciplinary conferences pertaining to policies and procedures affecting nursing practice.
• Maintain professional competence through participation in continuing education and other appropriate learning experiences.

Requirements

• Experience: 2+ years of nursing experience preferred
• Licenses & Certifications: Current RN License in New York
