NYC Health and Hospitals seeks an Assistant Head Nurse for the Telemetry Unit in Brooklyn, NY. The role leads nursing staff and supports the Head Nurse in delivering professional patient care on the TELEMETRY UNIT.

Typical schedule is Full-Time, Day shift (7:00 A.M – 3:30 P.M) with alternating weekends. Minimum requirements include an NYS RN license, BLS, and 2+ years of related experience; salary is posted and reflects comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as an Assistant Head Nurse preferred.
• Experience in telemetry nursing is advantageous.
• Strong leadership and team coordination abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to patients/clients within an assigned unit.
• Diagnose and treat responses to actual or potential health problems.
• Serve as a team leader and assist the Head Nurse in guiding nursing personnel.
• Identify and discriminate between physical and psycho-social signs and symptoms.
• Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate the nursing regimen for assigned patients/clients.
• Record and maintain nursing care plans and progress notes.
• Interpret and report responses of patients/clients to appropriate health team members.
• Participate with interdisciplinary health team members to plan comprehensive patient care programs.
• Provide teaching, guidance, and direction to allied nursing personnel.
• Maintain professional competence through participation in continuing education.

What You'll Do

Requirements

Experience:

• 2+ years of experience as an Assistant Head Nurse preferred.

Licenses & Certifications:

Additional Compensation

• Annual education differential for degrees in nursing or allied health disciplines.
• Annual certification differential ranging from $1,878 up to $4,878 for recognized certifications.
• Annual nursing experience differential ranging from $987 up to $8,190 for up to 10 years of experience.
