NYC Health and Hospitals, Kings County Hospital Center in Brooklyn, seeks a Staff Nurse in Behavioral Health Services to provide professional nursing care within an inpatient unit, focusing on diagnosing and treating health problems through nursing methods.

You will develop, implement, and continuously evaluate nursing regimens, record care plans, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, and participate in standards of nursing practice; NYS RN license required, experience as staff nurse

Qualifications

• Current New York State RN license required.
• Experience as Staff Nurse required.
• Behavioral health nursing experience preferred.

About This Role

The Staff Nurse in Behavioral Health Services provides professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit, focusing on diagnosing and treating health problems through various nursing methods and techniques.

Highlights

• Pay: $112,775/year

• Facility: Kings County Hospital Center
• Department/Unit: INPATIENT BEHAVIOR HEALTH R5E
• Schedule: Full-Time, Day (7:00 A.M – 7:30 P.M), Alternating Weekends

What You'll Do

• Identify and discriminate between physical and psycho-social signs and symptoms.
• Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate the nursing regimen for assigned patients/clients.
• Record and maintain nursing care plans and progress notes on patients/clients.
• Interpret and report responses of patients/clients to appropriate members of the health team.
• Participate with interdisciplinary health team members to plan a comprehensive patient care program.
• Determine and assign components of the nursing regimen to allied nursing personnel.
• Provide teaching, guidance, and direction to allied nursing personnel in patient care.
• Participate in defining, implementing, maintaining, and interpreting standards of nursing practice.
• Participate in departmental and interdisciplinary conferences regarding nursing practice policies.
• Maintain professional competence through participation in continuing education and learning experiences.

Requirements

• Experience: Experience as a Staff Nurse required.
• Licenses & Certifications: Current New York State RN License required.

Additional Compensation

• Annual education differential based on degree:
  • Bachelors in allied health discipline = $900
  • Masters in allied health discipline = $1,200
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) = $1,800
  • Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) = $2,000
  • Doctorate in Education, Nursing Practice or PhD in Nursing (DNP) = $2,500
• Annual certification differential ranging from $1,878 up to $4,878 for recognized certifications.
• Annual nursing experience differential ranging from $987 up to $8,190 for up to 10 years of experience.
