The Montefiore RN/Surgery Center maintains standards of the practice for nursing as defined by the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice, and Nursing’s Social Policy Statement.

The Registered Nurse (RN) actualizes the vision, mission, values, and balanced scorecard performance measures for Montefiore Medical Center.

The RN participates in performance improvement and research activities; maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise; and demonstrates leadership skills. The RN demonstrates core and unit-specific competencies based on the patient population served.

The Registered Nurse contributes to the actualization of the philosophy and objectives of MMC and the Surgical Care Center. They are committed to maintaining nursing practice standards and are responsible for coordinating, implementing, and delivering care to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and/or elderly patients. They participate in performance improvement and research activities, maintain professional standards, and demonstrate leadership skills.

Any additional responsibilities assigned by the Director of Clinical Operations or designee that come under the purview of an ASU registered nurse.

SCHEDULE:

8:30 AM - 7:00 PM, days vary. This position has a fixed schedule and is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
  • New York State Registered Professional License with current registration or valid permit to practice in New York State
  • Two years of ASU/PACU experience required
  • Basic Life Support Certification required
  • Infection Control Certification
  • Membership in ASPAN preferred
  • Certified Ambulatory Peri-anesthesia Nurse (CAPA) preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred
