Job summary

ArchCare is seeking a Registered Nurse for a part-time night shift in New York. You will plan, direct, and evaluate nursing care on a specific unit under nursing leadership, ensuring quality resident care during your shift.

The ideal candidate holds a NY State RN license, with an Associate Degree (BSN preferred). Responsibilities include medication administration, shift handoffs, and coordinating care with the Nurse Manager and team in a home-like, community-based setting.

Qualifications

• Current NY State Registered Nurse License.
• Associate Degree in Nursing; BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, implement, coordinate and evaluate nursing care for a unit during the night shift.
• Receive reports from the previous shift and ensure pertinent information is communicated.
• Administer and document medications per policies and DOH regulations.
• Monitor residents' progress and discuss findings with Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse.
• Coordinate care with the Nurse Manager and nursing team.

Job Description

Responsibilities:
A Registered Nurse who, under the direction of the nursing leadership is responsible for planning, directing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating nursing care for a specific unit during her/his shift.

• Receives report from previous shift, making sure that he/she has received all pertinent information on each resident.
• Continuously evaluates behavior, symptoms, reactions and progress of residents and discusses findings with Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse.
• Administers and documents all medications according to established policies and procedures, physician's orders and Department of Health regulations.
• Performs all treatments according to physician's specific order and established policies and procedures.
• Discusses the need to discontinue or change a medication of treatment with the Nurse Manager/ Charge Nurse.
• Orders prescribed medications, notifies pharmacy of discontinued medications: and ensures accuracy of medications and dosages when received from pharmacy.
