Job summary

ArchCare in the Bronx is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to plan, direct, and coordinate nursing care on a dedicated unit under nursing leadership. You will ensure each resident's needs are met with attention to safety and quality.

You will work a day shift from 7:00 am to 3:15 pm, documenting medications and coordinating with the Nurse Manager. The role includes comprehensive benefits and a competitive hourly pay rate.

Qualifications

• Current NY State Registered Nurse License.
• Associate Degree required; BSN preferred.
• Experience in geriatric or long-term care settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, implement, coordinate and evaluate nursing care for a specific unit.
• Receive and relay shift reports; ensure complete information on each resident.
• Administer and document medications per policy and DOH rules; monitor progress.
• Discuss changes with Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse and adjust care as needed.
• Order and verify medications; communicate with pharmacy for changes.

Responsibilities

A Registered Nurse who, under the direction of the nursing leadership is responsible for planning, directing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating nursing care for a specific unit during her/his shift.

• Receives report from previous shift, making sure that he/she has received all pertinent information on each resident.
• Continuously evaluates behavior, symptoms, reactions and progress of residents and discusses findings with Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse.
• Administers and documents all medications according to established policies and procedures, physician's orders and Department of Health regulations.
• Performs all treatments according to physician’s specific order and established policies and procedures.
• Discusses the need to discontinue or change a medication of treatment with the Nurse Manager/ Charge Nurse.
• Orders prescribed medications, notifies pharmacy of discontinued medications and ensures accuracy of medications and dosages when received from pharmacy.
