Job summary

SB Energy is seeking a Staff Network Engineer – Data Centers to lead standards for network and telecom infrastructure across data center campuses, supporting hyperscale AI deployments. The role partners with Development, Design, Construction, Operations, Utility, and Customer teams to ensure scalable, reliable networks.

You will design, review, and implement campus fiber, cabling, and interconnection solutions, driving resiliency and cost efficiency across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related field.
• 6–10 years of experience in network engineering or data center design.
• Experience designing and deploying large-scale fiber optic and telecom systems.
• Strong understanding of structured cabling, carrier networks, and resiliency.
• Experience managing engineering consultants and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain network and telecommunications design standards for data center campuses.
• Lead design and engineering for campus fiber networks, interconnections, cabling, and facilities.
• Establish requirements for resiliency, scalability, maintainability, and readiness.
• Support site selection and due-diligence for carrier access and fiber availability.
• Manage external engineers, contractors, and technology vendors.
• Review engineering deliverables, documents, specifications, and commissioning plans.
• Collaborate with customer teams to incorporate networking needs into campus designs.
• Support construction, testing, commissioning, turnover activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve standards, reduce costs, and accelerate delivery.
• Evaluate emerging networking technologies for AI infrastructure needs.
