Job summary

Seagate Technology is seeking a Staff Engineer for Manufacturing Process Integration (MPI) in Normandale, United States. The role focuses on scaling HAMR-related wafer processes, improving manufacturability, and guiding processes from development to volume production.

You will present findings to diverse audiences and troubleshoot materials and process issues. You will work with the Wafer MPI team across Wafer Operations, Process Development, Design, and Product Engineering, communicating

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field required with 8+ years of experience, or a Master’s with 6+ years, or a PhD with 3+ years.
Strong communication skills suitable for presenting to varied audiences.
Ability to work in a clean room environment and support off-shift issues.

Responsibilities

Engage during development of HAMR reader and writer technologies.
Focus on process manufacturability and volume production readiness.
Prepare and present results to varied audiences within Seagate.
Design experiments to generate meaningful results and troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
Specialize in a discipline within the new process launch space as needed.
Interact with Directors to Technicians and communicate clearly.
