Job summary

Nubank in Palo Alto is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to build customer-facing mobile and full-stack crypto experiences, guiding the architecture and delivery across mobile interfaces and backend services.

You will collaborate with product, design, security, and compliance, mentor engineers, and own end-to-end product flows, from design through production, ensuring security, performance, and reliability.

Qualifications

• Strong experience building and operating production mobile applications, across APIs and backend services.
• Led medium-term engineering initiatives from design to production.
• Strong foundations in client architecture, state management, API contracts, testing, performance, reliability.
• Demonstrated product judgment and simplifying complex workflows for customers.
• Experience designing and operating transactional or security-sensitive features.
• Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly and collaborate with product, design, and engineering.
• Experience mentoring engineers and improving team practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, launch, and operation of customer-facing mobile and full-stack crypto experiences.
• Own complete product flows across mobile interfaces, APIs, service integrations, data/state management, release readiness, and post-launch health.
• Translate complex concepts like wallets, asset movement, and onchain transactions into clear customer experiences.
• Make independent team-level architecture decisions and communicate tradeoffs across usability, security, performance, reliability, and delivery speed.
• Build resilient transactional experiences with validation, error handling, recovery paths, testing, and observability.
• Coordinate dependencies with backend, platform, security, compliance, product, and design partners to move initiatives to production.
• Mentor engineers and raise the team's standards for mobile architecture, code quality, operational ownership, and customer-centered engineering.
