Babylist is hiring a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to own personalization across the homepage feed, recommendations and search. You’ll shape the modeling strategy and decide what to ship.

You’ll build custom embeddings from raw data, define the representation that multiple surfaces rely on, and ensure models actually improve customer experiences at scale.

Remote-first across the US and Canada, with a small team and opportunities to mentor product and data partners.

Qualifications

• Shipped production ML at scale with demonstrable impact.
• Expertise in Python ML ecosystem and full lifecycle.
• Experience with recommender/personalization systems.

Responsibilities

• Own personalization models for homepage feed and search.
• Develop and deploy embeddings and ranking systems.
• Set direction and bets for the next year.
• Collaborate with product, design and data teams.
• Coach senior engineers through hard and ambiguous calls.
