Job summary

Bloomreach is seeking a seasoned Staff Machine Learning Engineer to join our Search Quality team and lead ML-driven solutions that improve search relevance and discovery for customers. You’ll own architecture, build scalable models, and collaborate across engineering, data, and product squads.

You will mentor engineers, evaluate models, and stay ahead in ML, IR, and Generative AI. This remote-friendly role spans global teams and high-impact projects across the Bloomreach platform.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in a technical field with strong math foundation and Python/backend skills.
• 8+ years building ML-driven systems in production environments.
• Experience with low-latency, scalable cloud systems (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Background in Search, IR, Ranking or Relevance and large-scale data.
• Hands-on with LLMs in Search/ML, including latency and cost trade-offs.
• Experience across multiple merchants, domains, and languages.
• Strong NLP and Search Quality techniques, intent understanding, data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical roadmap and architecture for ML/AI-driven relevance.
• Design and improve ML/AI models for Search and Relevance.
• Own evaluation and experimentation frameworks for quality deployments.
• Work with data on queries, catalogs, and behavior to identify patterns.
• Collaborate with software/data engineers to scale ML components to production.
• Analyze search data to identify issues and drive improvements.
• Mentor engineers and align engineering with product goals.
• Stay current with ML, IR, and Generative AI developments.
