Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Power Electronics Engineer for the Baltimore, MD area to design and test advanced power supplies and power products for military applications. You will participate in a cross-functional team within the Power Conversion Technology group, delivering robust hardware for secure systems.

Responsibilities include simulations, schematic and PCB layout, trade studies, and rigorous validation in a lab environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience, or advanced degree with related experience.
• Active U.S. Government Secret clearance is required.
• 5+ years of hands-on power supply or power systems design and development experience.
• Experience with isolated and non-isolated topologies & control techniques.
• Experience with simulation tools (SPICE, LTSpice, SABER).

Responsibilities

• Design power supply hardware including simulation, schematic development, component selection, and PCB layout.
• Conduct technical trade studies to optimize design performance.
• Perform worst-case and component stress analyses for robustness.
• Provide manufacturing support and implement process improvements.
• Develop ATPs and perform initial hardware checkout and testing.
• Work in a lab to support hardware development, integration, and production.
