Job summary

IPA seeks a Staff Mechanical Engineer in Duluth, GA, to act as a technical authority in the design and development of complex mechanical systems. You will drive innovation from concept through production, owning sophisticated mechanism design and solutions that advance IPA's hardware capabilities.

This role requires leading cross-functional problem-solving, validating designs with prototyping and testing, and ensuring manufacturability and scalability with a focus on end-user needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of hands-on mechanical engineering experience.
• Strong skills in complex mechanism design and precision assemblies.
• Experience with CAD, prototyping, and design for manufacturability.

Responsibilities

• Lead research, development, and engineering projects from concept to production of complex mechanical systems.
• Design and optimize multi-axis assemblies and actuation mechanisms with CAD tools.
• Apply DFM, DFA, and DFS to balance performance with manufacturability and serviceability.
• Fabricate and test prototypes, conduct motion analysis and validation.
• Develop manufacturing and assembly processes for cost, quality, safety, and schedule.
• Coordinate with vendors for precision components and production readiness.
