Job summary

Enphase Energy is seeking a Mechanical Technician Temp to support assembly and integration of prototype SST racks and enclosures at our Austin, TX facility for a 3-month term. On-site daily, you will work under engineers to deliver test-ready assemblies following drawings and instructions.

You will mount components, perform basic fabrication, and help prepare hardware for tests, with a focus on safety, documentation, and quality in a fast-paced prototyping environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or technical certificate in Mechanical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Manufacturing Technology, or related field.
• 2+ years of hands-on mechanical assembly, fabrication, or technician experience.
• Local to Austin, TX — on-site daily for the full 3-month duration.

Responsibilities

• Assemble prototype racks, skids, and enclosures from engineering drawings with components like power modules and transformers.
• Mount components per drawings and torque specs using appropriate fasteners and brackets.
• Support sheet metal fabrication: cutting, bending, deburring, and fitting panels and frames.
• Assemble heatsinks, cooling, and thermal interfaces per specs; ensure proper contact pressure.
• Install busbars and conductors; perform basic bending and insulation wrapping.
• Identify fit/assembly issues and communicate fixes to keep builds on schedule.
• Receive and stage prototype parts against packing lists and PO’s.
• Fabricate test fixtures and jigs for vibration, thermal, and environmental testing.
• Maintain build logs, as-built drawings, and deviations with photos.
• Uphold safety and housekeeping, PPE usage, and lab/shop organization.
