Job description

We are looking for a practical Staff Mechanical Engineer to act as the primary bridge between our electrical and mechanical design groups and the manufacturing floor during the entire product lifecycle. You will be tasked with spearheading Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) efforts, facilitating the smooth transition of products from initial concepts to full‑scale production, and providing essential support for prototype creation, manufacturing preparation, and ongoing product enhancements.

The successful applicant will be someone who excels in a dynamic manufacturing setting, finds satisfaction in direct production floor engagement, and possesses deep expertise in high-volume product development, electromechanical systems, and interdisciplinary teamwork.

Your Responsibilities
  • Manage the creation of mechanical parts and electromechanical systems, covering everything from initial design to production and post-launch efforts to reduce costs.
  • Act as the main point of contact between design teams and production staff to guarantee that design goals are compatible with manufacturing capacity and requirements.
  • Help optimize production efficiency, assembly workflows, and serviceability by leading comprehensive DFM and DFA evaluations.
  • Assist in the construction of prototypes by performing hands‑on tasks such as fitment verification, rapid prototyping, testing, and resolving manufacturing-related challenges.
  • Work alongside technicians and diverse engineering departments to construct and verify early‑stage prototypes while adhering to strict project timelines.
  • Maintain records of manufacturing insights and design improvements to foster ongoing product evolution and inform future development cycles.
Your Background
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related technical field.
  • A minimum of seven years of practical experience in product development focused on high-volume electromechanical goods.
  • Solid grasp of mechanical engineering principles combined with a functional understanding of electrical systems and their integration.
  • Proven track record in designing or supporting various components, including busbars, wire harnesses, sensors, control panels, sheet metal, plastics, or PCBA assemblies.
  • Competence in utilizing 3D CAD software, PLM systems, and managing engineering documentation and bills of materials.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills, with the ability to handle competing priorities in a fast‑paced production environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience utilizing GD&T and tolerance stack‑up analysis within high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Previous experience in production support, manufacturing engineering, or process engineering roles.
  • Experience working with complex electromechanical systems, such as high‑voltage products or battery systems.
  • Familiarity with standard communication protocols like Ethernet, CAN, or LIN.
  • Experience assisting with design validation, root cause analysis, rapid prototyping, and the ramp‑up of production activities.
