Job summary

Bitdeer seeks a Staff Backend Engineer to re-architect its MaaS system into a globally distributed, multi-tenant token service. You will co-own system design with the principal architect, rewrite Go services, own migrations, and ensure uptime for a revenue-bearing platform.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience with hands-on ownership of a multi-tenant API platform for paying customers.
• Proven ability to safely execute zero-downtime migrations for stateful subsystems such as metering or ledgers.
• Deep hands-on proficiency with Go-based services and production Kubernetes, plus Datastore trade-offs (PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka).

Responsibilities

• Co-own the end-to-end MaaS system design with the Principal Architect and drive implementation end-to-end.
• Own the wire compatibility contract for major formats (OpenAI, Anthropic) and evolve routing with robust failover.
• Optimize token throughput, latency, and cost; integrate deployment tooling and autoscaling with Kubernetes.
• Define and defend strict SLOs for a globally distributed, multi-tenant platform.
• Enforce secure, zero-retention data paths and on-call readiness with blameless incident reviews.
• Deliver zero-regression migrations and end-to-end observability with tracing and cost telemetry.
