Job summary

Bitdeer Technologies Group is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to re-architect our MaaS system into a globally distributed, multi-tenant token service. You will co-own design with the Principal Architect, own end-to-end implementation, migrations, and on-call for a revenue-bearing service.

You will rewrite Go services, enforce SLOs, and establish backend engineering standards for the MaaS team, working closely with cross-functional partners to ensure reliability and scale.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience.
• 3+ years owning a high-traffic, multi-tenant API platform for paying customers.
• Experience with multi-region active-active deployments.
• Hands-on Go-based services and production Kubernetes.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka and observability tooling.
• Experience with zero-downtime migrations and billing metering is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Co-own MaaS system design with the Principal Architect and drive architecture across the platform.
• Own the Inference Gateway and API surface, ensure compatibility and versioning.
• Optimize performance and model lifecycle, improve token throughput and latency.
• Scale global topology with regional inference pools and reliability SLOs.
• Enforce multi-tenant security, authentication, isolation, and abuse controls.
• Build exact-once metering and billing for billions of events.
• Deliver zero-regression migrations with observability and cost telemetry.
