CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer - Java to lead the design, development, and modernization of enterprise-scale healthcare platforms from Boise, Idaho. You will drive architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and deliver scalable, secure applications for millions of customers.

Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Security, and Operations teams; participate in code reviews; champion best practices; and shape roadmaps balancing progress with reliability.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development in a large-scale distributed environment.
• 7+ years of hands-on Java application development with modern Java frameworks.
• 5+ years of Java, Springboot development experience.
• 5+ years of cloud initiatives and cloud technologies.
• 5+ years designing and developing modern microservices and APIs.
• 3+ years of CI/CD pipeline automation.
• 3+ years of Agile development.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable solutions that meet business requirements and quality standards.
• Contribute to solution design and architecture discussions with architects and senior engineers.
• Provide input on performance and scalability to meet objectives.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure coding standards and quality guidelines.
• Communicate and coordinate with team members to align and share technical insights.
• Adopt best practices and new technologies to improve productivity and code quality.
• Engage in knowledge sharing through code reviews, tech talks, and workshops.
• Collaborate to implement complex features and high-quality code.
• Mentor junior developers to grow technical skills.
