Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer - Java to lead design, development, and modernization of enterprise healthcare platforms. You will drive architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and deliver highly available, secure, scalable applications supporting millions of customers.

As a technical leader, you will collaborate with Product, Architecture, Security, Operations, and Engineering teams to build innovative solutions that improve care experiences for members, providers

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience in a large-scale distributed environment.
• 7+ years of hands-on Java application development with modern Java ecosystem frameworks.
• 5+ years of Java, Springboot development experience.
• 5+ years of enterprise cloud initiatives and cloud computing technologies.
• 5+ years of designing and developing modern microservices and APIs.
• 3+ years of CI/CD pipeline automation.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable solutions that meet business requirements and quality standards.
• Contribute to solution design and architecture discussions with architects and senior engineers.
• Provide input on performance, feasibility, and scalability to meet objectives.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure coding standards and quality guidelines.
• Communicate with team members to ensure alignment and share technical insights.
• Adopt best practices and new technologies to improve productivity and code quality.
• Lead knowledge sharing activities such as code reviews, tech talks, and workshops.
• Collaborate with developers to implement complex features and enhance existing functionality.
• Mentor junior developers to grow technical skills.
