CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer - Java to lead design, development, and modernization of enterprise-scale healthcare platforms. You will drive architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and deliver highly available, secure, scalable applications serving millions of customers.

As a technical leader, you will partner with Product, Architecture, Security, Operations, and Engineering teams to implement innovative solutions that improve health care experiences for members,

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience in large-scale distributed environments.
• 7+ years of hands‑on Java application development with modern Java ecosystem frameworks.
• 5+ years of Java, Spring Boot development experience.
• 5+ years of cloud initiatives and cloud computing technologies.
• 5+ years of designing and developing modern microservices and APIs.
• 3+ years of CI/CD pipeline automation.
• 3+ years in an Agile development environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement efficient, scalable solutions that meet business requirements and quality standards.
• Contribute to solution design and architecture discussions with architects and senior engineers.
• Provide input on performance, feasibility, and scalability to ensure objectives are met.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure coding standards and quality guidelines are followed.
• Communicate and coordinate with team members to align on technical decisions.
• Adopt best practices and new technologies to boost productivity and code quality.
• Share knowledge through code reviews, tech talks, and workshops.
