CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer - Java to lead design, development, and modernization of enterprise healthcare platforms, mentoring engineers and driving architecture decisions.

The role focuses on scalable, secure, cloud-native Java microservices, API development, and modern software practices, partnering with Product, Security and Operations to improve member and provider experiences. You'll influence technical strategy and deliver high‑quality code.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development in a large-scale distributed environment
• 7+ years of hands-on Java application development with modern Java ecosystem frameworks
• 5+ years of Java, Springboot development experience
• 5+ years of enterprise cloud initiatives and cloud computing technologies
• 5+ years of designing and developing modern microservices and APIs
• 3+ years of CI/CD pipeline automation
• 3+ years of Agile development environment

Responsabilités

• Design and implement efficient, scalable solutions meeting business requirements and quality standards
• Contribute to solution design and architecture discussions with architects and senior engineers
• Provide input on feasibility, performance, and scalability for overall objectives
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards
• Communicate and coordinate with team members to align on decisions and insights
• Adopt best practices and new technologies to improve productivity and code quality
• Participate in knowledge sharing (code reviews, tech talks, workshops) to foster learning
• Collaborate with developers to implement complex features and elevate existing functionality
• Mentor junior developers to grow technical skills
